Frame p&t 3w v6 inline footplate loose or brokenUpdated a month ago

We've seen a few reports of the 4OTF buggy footplates being cracked - usually an out of box fault. Often the screws have been been loose in the box and unable to be reattached as the plastic has cracked (as shown below).

To resolve please send a new foot plate PT-P3WFOOTPLATEV6.

If the screw breaks on the footplate and gets stuck in the frame -

OPTION A:

  1.  Push from outside with one screw driver to hold screw plastic against inside of tube.Ę
  2.  Then unscrew from the inside._

OPTION B:

There may be times when a customer cannot remove the stuck screws from the frame. In these cases, please send 1 x blind rivet as a tool to help removal, along with these instructions:

  1. Remove footplate completely
  2. Go to the hole that has the broken screw boss inside
  3. Take the narrow end of the rivet and push it in through the top side of the frame. The end of the screw should go into the hole in the end of the rivet
  4. Press down with force on the wider top of the rivet. This will push the plastic boss that is stuck on the screw against the inside wall of the frame, holding it in place while you unscrew
  5. Unscrew the screw completely until it can be pulled out the hole on the underside of the frame
  6. You are now free to install the new replacement footplate

This is what the blind rivet (capstan) parts look like:

These are care parts, available in Newtown / Fort Collins / IDV / Windsor.
