Our buggies can support attaching a car seat capsule to the frame of the buggy using a car seat adaptor. As a group they are known as a travel system. This allows you to use either our own alpha infant car seat or many third party capsule options.
If the columbus car seat (pre-2023, with harness) adjuster is slipping it is likely due to foreign material inside the mechanism (making the button stocky and holding it open).
Due to the change in safety standards between the alpha i-size infant car seat, released in 2023 and the earlier model alpha the car seat bases are not interchangeable.
The shoulder straps on the phil&teds alpha (pre-2023) can be adjusted to accommodate a growing child. This applies to the alpha v3 (not the alpha i-size infant car seat which has an adjustable no rethread harness).
All phil&teds car seats have a suggested lifespan of 10 years, from the date of manufacture. Finding the date of manufacture differs on each car seat.
If you are finding that your harness is not tightening evenly, or that the straps are not fully tightened (even when pulling from the back) then your car seat harness straps may have become unbalanced.
